As most of you know, in order to keep our ticket prices low and to offer quality artists at affordable prices, there are some restrictions we must put in place.
We only have limited camping space and so to ensure we can accommodate you all on site, we need to carefully manage the parking and camping spaces. There will be stewards to park you and direct you to a camping space.
We only have a few hours to get all the stalls and campers on site so it’s a fairly hectic Friday for all our staff.
The campsite opens at 2.00pm for general admission.
If you are wanting to camp at the side of your friend you will need to arrive together. There is an industrial estate adjacent to the site where you can wait for friends to arrive if this is imperative for you to be able to enjoy your stay. We need to feed everyone in spaces as they come onto the pitch.
As we don’t really sleep over the weekend, we cannot stay and be responsible for any vehicles, tents or stalls left on site on Thursday. So we have to say that it will be at your own risk if left there. We won’t be available to supervise the site.
You are of course welcome to drink your own beer in the camping area. If this is taken into the club or arena, please don’t be offended if it is confiscated or you are asked to return to the camping area. This is the format for most smaller festivals. Please don’t bring cans or glass into the arena as this is a health and safety hazard.
Due to health & safety we are not permitted fires, you may have BBQ’s in the camping area but please be mindful of sparks around tents and extinguish after use.
Also please respect our lovely group of volunteers who do this for nothing, same as the rest of us, to ensure this event takes place. The Rugby Club staff are also all volunteers and in short, no-one gets paid for this except the artists and services we use. Any surplus, after costs will find it’s way to MENINGITIS NOW.
That’s the serious bit out of the way.
Now for the positives…
What a cracking line up we have for your enjoyment this year! We have some of your favorites with some new bands and artists thrown into the mix. We are starting off the stages at 11am and finish at 11pm sharp. Thereafter, if you still want to party on, we go into the club. Please support our early artists, as it’s quite daunting to open up a festival, especially if it’s their first time playing one. Let’s make it a positive experience for them. We have doubled the size of the second stage this year which will serve as a beer tent also. There will be bands on both stages with no overlap so you don’t have to miss anyone performing over the weekend.
We use Friday as part of the warm up and settling in evening. We put this on as an extra so that campers have a good warm up to their stay.
We have a good selection of stalls, some back by popular demand and a few new ones in the mix. I know we will miss our lovely Bob, but please welcome our new edition this year Robert Tooth.
As we are a small site we have to be mindful of the stalls we invite as we have to make it profitable for them. So we can’t offer a massive selection of stalls with our footfall, but we feel happy with our selection this year. They all donate a percentage of their takings to Meningitis Now as we don’t charge a pitch fee. Please get behind them.
Lastly we want to say a massive THANK YOU to all of you guys who have got behind us and made this all happen. We can’t thank you enough for your support. It’s only our third year and we have sold out!!!!! A few day tickets remain but we can’t sell them with camping as we have no space left.
Thanks again for your support. Peace and Love.
